Interior Design Magazine’s Southern Belles

Interior Design Magazine included the Jamie Beckwith Collection in the February issue with a focus on flooring.

Southern Belles

Think of hardwood flooring, and images of rough-hewn planks or precious herringbone are sure to spring to mind. To challenge that status quo, the Jamie Beckwith Collection has introduced the Enigma series of formats ranging from tile shapes, more commonly associated with ceramic or stone, to unusually ornamental strips. The 14 patterns are produced in walnut and quarter-sawn or plain white oak, all stained in one of six water-based, no-VOC colors and applied to a substrate of nine-ply Baltic birch.

Stella was inspired by a starry sky. Another celestial reference is Crescent, though it resembles more of an hourglass. In Lotus, fanlike blossoms taper into slender stems. A dark circle punctuates square Dice. And the undulating strips of Wave come in five lengths. Lead times are short, custom orders a cinch. 615-254-1937; jamiebeckwithcollection.com.

2012 Antiques and Garden Home Show of Nashville

Inspiration and Findings at the 2012 Antiques and Garden Home Show of Nashville

Collective C O L O R : February 10th – 12th, 2012

Here’s a few snapshots from the Antiques and Garden Home Show of Nashville that we captured along the way, perusing through the many antiques dealers that were present. This is the shows 22nd year and over 150 dealers from all over the country had booths showing their wares.
Among the selections we noticed some 20th century Danish modern pieces mixed in with the older antiques. Many of the horticulture booths emphasized bringing the outdoors in through use of garden furniture, planters, and iron décor. We also noticed an emergence of religious art as well as the use of deep colors and pops of yellow.

We hope the collages of images inspire you, through their texture, color, and form!

Exciting Guest Blogger! Creative Storage and Display.

Hi, I’m Joanna, a blogger for Design Shuffle, the place on the web for all things interior design. Designers share their work and design enthusiasts enjoy searching design portfolios. Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite storage and decorating ideas. Thanks to Beckwith Interiors for letting me share! Storage doesn’t have to be cluttered or boring; there are many sophisticated and chic ways to display or tuck away items. The spaces below are a perfect example of this. How do you store your items? Have you thought of attractive storage walls? Storage Walls A feminine dressing room has lots of wall storage for coveted shoes and clothing. Who wouldn’t love to have this space in their home? Storage Walls If you collect books like I do, floor to ceiling shelving provides the perfect way to store them and keep them close at hand. Storage Walls This wood wall is sleek and modern with a small alcove tucked into it for an alarm clock or artwork. It’s a very modern look for a bedroom design. Storage Walls An unusual wall mounted shelving unit provides the perfect space to store dishes and cooking spices and oils. Storage Walls Closed wall shelving, like in this living space, gives lots of room for items like the entertainment consoles and TVs. A storage idea like this will look fabulous in all living room designs! Storage Walls A checkerboard of blocks gives a spot for collections and artwork in the interior design for this modern loft. Storage Walls Round cubbies in differing sizes add art-like storage in an entry or mudroom. Tuck away gloves, hats or backpacks. Storage Walls A collection of children’s books becomes a library of wonder for little ones. No more scattered and misshapen books lying around the room. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 Can’t get enough design inspiration? Raenovate and Beckwith Interiors.

A special thanks to Rachel at the lovely “before and after” blog, Raenovate for including a project recently completed.  Designers Ashleigh Farrar and Deidre Marie Glore brought a fresh design approach to a hip, young family in Nashville.  The home now reflects the family that lives there, one that is well traveled, modern and warm.  We are happy to link to Raenovate’s site to share the wonderful before and after pictures of the project.

Thanks Rachel!!  xoxo
